The number of active COVID-19 cases has dropped in Chariton County.

According to officials at the Chariton County Health Center, there were only three newly-recorded positive cases over the last few days, raising the total to 1,835 in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

As of Tuesday, February 22, due to 1,788 of them being released from public health isolation as recovered and 21 COVID-19 related deaths, the active case count dropped from 29 during the previous update to 16.
