Eddie Lee Scott, 78, of Marshall, died Wednesday, February 23, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, February 28,  at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to family choice and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born February 18, 1944, in Calwood, MO, he was the son of the late James P. Scott and Susan Atterberry Scott.  On March 2, 1962, he married Anna Ruth Langley who preceded him in death on January 16, 2022.  In early years, he ran Max’s Recreation on North Street which helped him develop his pool playing skills.  He worked for over 20 years as a dump truck driver and retired from Marshall Habilitation Center after 30 years of service.  Eddie was always working and busy.  He ran an ice cream truck as well as worked as a bus driver for Marshall Public Schools.  Eddie Scott was well known for his love of softball and his ability to hit the ball anywhere needed.  He managed his own softball team for over 30 years as well as having 2 to 3 tournaments a month during the season.  Eddie loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two children, Tina Marie Scott and Randall Lee Scott, both of Marshall; three grandchildren: Racheal Wharton (Lisa), Crystal Woody (Roger Miller), and Tristan Crawford; six great-grandchildren: Kadence, Liam, Memphis, Quinn, Alexus and Eliyas; two siblings, Harold “Duke” Scott and Mary Batey (John), both of Fulton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In addition to his parents and wife, Eddie was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Ann Crawford; three sisters, Dora E. Patrick, Beulah May Scott and Dorris Pitt; and three brothers: Charles, Richard and Billy Scott.
