
Current Saline County Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. will face opposition from a former presiding commissioner during the Tuesday, August 2, Primary Election.
According to the Saline County Clerk’s Office, Guthrey filed to run for another four-year term on the opening day of filing on February 22. He was first elected to the office in November 2014. Also filing to run as a democrat in the primary for presiding commissioner is Becky Plattner. According to the list provided by the county, Plattner was elected then reelected and served as presiding commissioner from January 1, 2003, through December 31, 2010.
Several other persons filed to run for county offices during the opening day of filing in Saline County, including: Carrie L. Jarvis – Republican – County Clerk; Brittni Allison Burton – Republican – County Clerk; Jessica L. Baker – Republican – Recorder of Deeds; Amie Ragan-Brown – Republican – Recorder of Deeds; Becky Tebbenkamp Uhlich – Democrat – Circuit Clerk; Karlin M. Breshears – Republican – Auditor; Cindi A. Sims – Republican – Collector of Revenue; Page Bellamy – Democrat – Associate Circuit Judge Division 6; and Hugh C. Harvey – Democrat – Associate Circuit Judge Division 5.
An updated list from the county clerk’s office adds: Committee Persons- Republican: Dean Hecke and Stacy Hecke- Blackwater Township; Jonathan R. Borges and Judy Borges – Miami Township; Lester Bailey and Barbara Utlaut – Marshall Ward 1; E. Lee Hamilton – Marshall Ward 3; and Democrat: Pamela LaFrenz – Marshall Ward 4 also have filed since opening day.
Filing continues during regular business hours at the county clerk’s office through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29.
