The Warrensburg Fire Department has announced the appointment of Brent Hansen to the rank of Battalion Chief.

Department officials say Chief Hansen joined the department in 2005. He was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2018. Chief Hansen will lead A Shift in his new role with the WFD.

Chief Hansen began his fire service career with the United States Air Force. He was an active-duty USAF firefighter for eight years. He has served an additional 15 years with the Air Force Reserves and continues to serve in that capacity.

Chief Hansen and his wife Amie reside in rural Warrensburg and have two children.
