
One person had to be flown from the scene of a three-vehicle traffic crash in Lafayette County on Friday, March 4.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as westbound Dodge 3500 pickup, driven by 41-year-old Frank Umeokoro, of Lewisville, Texas, was stationary in the right lane and was struck by a westbound Volvo, driven by 61-year-old Teddy Bingham, of Russellville, Arkansas, and a westbound freightliner, driven by 48-year-old Richard Patton, of St. Louis. The freightliner overturned before it came to rest.
Umeokoro was transported by Life Flight helicopter to Center Point Medical Center in Independence for treatment of serious injuries. Patton was transported by ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment of moderate injuries. Bingham was not injured.
The crash happened at 12:55 a.m. at the 57.6 mile marker on I-70.
