Area residents turned out in droves to show support for the Freedom Convoy of tractor-trailers that rolled through three counties in the KMMO listening area on Friday, March 4.

Despite the scheduled arrival time of the truckers being delayed by about two hours, the crowds- numbering in triple digits at some locations- waited on the overpasses and stood alongside I-70 in Lafayette, Saline and Cooper Counties.

Residents waived American flags in support as truckers flashed headlights and honked horns on their rigs, thanking patrons for their support.

According to the “Freedom Convoy,” the truckers are heading to Washington, D.C. to protest all mandates related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
