The rate of positive COVID-19 cases has decreased, but the percentage of breakthrough cases and virus-related deaths increased over a seven-day period in Pettis County.

According to Pettis County Health Center officials, there were 50 positive tests from February 21-27. Half of them were breakthrough cases- 14 Moderna, 10 Pfizer and one J&J.

With six more deaths, the county’s total is 151 since the beginning of the pandemic, and there are four persons currently hospitalized.

Overall, there has been 11,789 total positive cases. With 11,596 previously-positive cases recovered and the death total, there are 47 active cases- down from 87 the week before- in the county.

The county’s positivity rate is 6.3 percent, down from 15.6 percent the week prior.
