
Stanley Gordon Cook, 75, of Blackburn, MO, died Sunday, March 6, 2022 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Blackburn, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery. Born November 26, 1946, in Waverly, MO, he was the son of the late Charles William Henry Cook and Frances Hattie Anna Heins Cook. He attended school in Blackburn until his senior year and was a graduate of LaSalle High School in Alma. He was a lifelong farmer, worked for several farmers in swine production, retiring from MFA. He was a big fan of all sports especially the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and University of Missouri athletics. He loved outdoor activity including fishing and quail hunting and was an avid reader especially on swine production, farming and current events. He enjoyed country cruising and was a competitive card player especially playing 500 at Blackburn Civic Center.
Survivors include one brother, Ray Cook of Blackburn, MO; three nephews, Mike Cook (Linda) of Alma, Doug Cook (Ricci) of Sweet Springs, MO and Steven Cook of Columbia, MO; and great-nieces and nephews, Michelle, Jon, Chris, Tyler and Nicholas.
In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Joyce Cook.
