Having sat vacant for several years, an old, dilapidated eyesore of a building in the 1500 block of South Odell Avenue in Marshall should be demolished soon.
During the meeting of the city council on Monday, March 7, City Administrator JD Kehrman explained the start of the demolition of the old IGA building was delayed.
The up-front cost of the agreement is $130,000 for REMCO to remove the buildings and the parking lot, leaving only a dirt lot. The city will pay for that.
During a meeting in December 2021, Kehrman made it clear the city will get its money back from the property owner over time.
