A Forest Lake, Minnesota, man charged with a felony after a traffic stop on I-70 in Lafayette County on January 25 has a court proceeding scheduled.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a trooper says he located a female’s wallet from Minnesota that had been reported stolen under the front passenger seat of the vehicle. In the trunk, the trooper located stolen license plates from the state of Illinois and Minnesota.

In addition, the trooper says he located another female’s information who resides in Pleasant Hill. Her vehicle was reported broken into, and her credit cards were stolen. She reported her cards were used at Walmart and Walgreen’s in Jackson County to purchase $700 gift cards. The trooper viewed surveillance video at each location to confirm the purchases.

According to court documents, 59-year-old Aloysius Eric Schrom is charged with a felony for stealing of $750 or more and misdemeanors for stealing less than $150 and operating a vehicle on the highway without a valid license. Bond remains $50,000 cash only. A motion for bond reduction was filed on February 7.

Schrom pleaded not guilty on January 26. His next hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Lafayette County circuit Court.
