
Norma Jane Bergman, 88, of rural Concordia, died Tuesday, March 8, at Good Shepherd Care Community in Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia, with Pastors Michael Pottschmidt and Andrew Lehenbauer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Born February 2, 1934, in Concordia, she was the daughter of the late Alwin Stuenkel and Eliese Brackman Stuenkel. She lived in the Concordia area her entire life and was a graduate of Concordia High School. On September 4, 1955, she married Erwin L. “Skeeter” Bergman who preceded her in death on December 16, 2005. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid #3, volunteered for Braille and sang in the Senior Choir. She loved gardening, sewing, crocheting, puzzle books, cooking and baking.
Survivors include one son, Timothy Bergman of rural Concordia; one daughter, Sarah Bergman of rural Concordia; four grandchildren, Nathan Bergman, Aliesa Bergman (Nick), Matthew Bergman (Faith) and Kimberly Riedl (Louis); nine great-grandchildren, Garrett, Archer, Blaise, Kaspar, Aiden, Brookelynn, Anthony, Rylee and Isabelle; daughter-in-law, Betty Bergman of rural Concordia; three sisters, Ruth Thomas of Washington, MI, Esther Heidtbrink (Cecil) of Corinth, TX and Karen Weber (Ken) of Sweet Springs, MO; brother-in-law, Jim Fuchs of Paola, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Norma Jane was preceded in death by one son, David Bergman on August 19, 2014; one sister, Alleen Fuchs; and brother-in-law, Dale Thomas.
