Howard E. “Butch” Baker, 76, of Warsaw, MO, formerly of Marshall, died Wednesday, March 9, 2022, in Warsaw.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 14, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.  Burial with full military rites will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.  Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Born May 20, 1945, in Slater, he was the son of the late Amos Howard Baker and Mary Sullivan Baker Berlekamp.  Butch graduated from Slater High School in 1963 and then joined the United States Navy in September of that year.  He served three tours of duty in Vietnam on the USS Vance as an electricians mate.  He was honorably discharged in September 1967 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars.  On September 29, 1972, Butch married Janice L. Erickson who preceded him in death on December 11, 2010.  Butch worked as an electrician and maintenance supervisor at Con-Agra, Wilson’s Foods and then retired from Waterloo Industries in Sedalia.  He was a member of V.F.W. Post 4367 in Slater and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include two sons, Eric Baker (Danielle) of rural Warsaw and Kyle Baker (Rose) of rural Marshall; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Wesley Baker (Melissa) of rural Slater; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Marlysa Schnay Baker; and two sisters, Helen Beeler and Carolyn Burton.
