Two Sedalia residents arrested and charged after traffic stops in Pettis County on March 1 are due in court.

A Sedalia Police report says Crime Resolution Unit detectives initiated two traffic stops on vehicles leaving a residence in the 1600 block of West 9th Street- which was determined to be involved in illegal drug activity, including possible drug sales.

Arrested were the primary resident, Tyler N. Rusk, whom authorities say was in possession of fentanyl; and Ahmad Dupree- who was apprehended after a short pursuit and him resisting- and allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Court documents say Rusk is charged with a felony for delivery of a controlled substance and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond is set at $100,000 cash or surety.

Dupree is charged with felonies for delivery of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and driving while revoked or suspended. Bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety.

Rusk and Dupree were arraigned on March 3. Rusk is due for another hearing and Dupree for a counsel-status and bond-reduction hearing at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at Pettis County Circuit Court.

In addition to the arrests and state charges, the residence was determined to be in violation of a city ordinance- prohibition against maintaining a nuisance property. The residence was posted with notice of the violation, mandating the property owner resolve the violation within 60 days.
