Two of three Sedalia juveniles charged with murder and other felonies in Pettis County are due in court.

According to a release from Pettis County Prosecuting Attorney Phillip Sawyer, on December 10, 2021, Sedalia Police officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Kentucky Avenue, where a caller reported he was assaulted, his son was shot during the incident- and 32-year-old Tyler Simon was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two of the three juveniles arrested were connected to an earlier burglary at the same residence.

According to court documents, 15-year-olds Charles J. Boone and Jayden W. Miller and 16-year-old Andrew Knoeferl have been charged with felonies for second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, armed criminal action, tampering with physical evidence and first-degree assault. Boone and Knoeferl each is also charged with second-degree burglary.

Bond for each Boone and Miller is set at $500,000 and Knoeferl at $250,000 cash or surety.

All three suspects have been arraigned. Counsel-status hearings for Boone and Miller are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 17; and Knoeferl’s preliminary hearing at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
