The Marshall High School Debate Squad had multiple first place finishes in the Central District Debate Tournament.

Marshall had three competitors qualify for the Missouri State Debate Tournament after top placements in their categories.

According to Speech and Debate Coach Gieringer, Michelle Lin finished first in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Garret Bristow and Eliza Papreck placed first in the Public Forum Debate. Marshall placed first in the Debate Sweepstakes event. Lauren Riley placed second in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Hunter Vestal and Ingrid Aquilar-Garcia placed fifth in the Public Forum Debate.

Lin, Bristow, and Papreck are scheduled to compete in the Missouri State Debate Tournament in April.
