As many residents participate in spring cleaning rituals, area authorities remind residents of an upcoming bi-annual resource.

According to the Boonville Police and Fire Department, the two entities are scheduled to accept unwanted and/or expired prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, at the Boonville Fire Department located at 500 Bingham Road.

Officials say this opportunity is a measure to prevent pill abuse and theft of prescription drugs.

Note that the DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps – only pills and patches will be accepted. The service is free and anonymous.

If you cannot turn in your unwanted prescription drugs during this time, the Boonville Police Department also accepts drop-offs at 401 East Morgan Street.
