
James Benjamin “Jim” Murdock, age 69, of Warsaw and formerly of Slater, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, at his home.
He was born on August 16, 1952, in Marshall, Missouri, the son of James R. Murdock and Ruth (Kapeller) Murdock.
Jim grew up in Slater, Missouri, and graduated from Slater High School in 1970. He worked at the Messer Machine Shop in Slater for many years and also was self employed as a welder.
On September 27, 2008 he was united in marriage to Amy Newton. They made their home in Slater, moving to Warsaw in 2016. Jim enjoyed welding, hunting, fishing and camping.
He is preceded in death by his father, James R. Murdock. Jim is survived by his wife Amy Murdock, of the home, his mother, Ruth Murdock, of rural Slater, Missouri, two children, Shelby Murdock (Adam), of Adrian, Missouri and Wess Murdock (Emily), of Kansas City, Missouri, a step-daughter, Megan Lawson (Robert), of Marshall, Missouri two grandchildren and a brother, Larry Murdock (Linda), of Marshall, Missouri.
Visitation will be at held at 1 p.m. with the funeral mass to follow on Wednesday, March 23, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Warsaw. Burial will follow at Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw.
