A Kansas City man charged with multiple felonies after a reported high-speed pursuit in Saline County on August 2, 2020, is due in court.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol report says there was a report of a stolen Chevrolet Equinox from the Eagle Stop gas station in Boonville, and the driver was driving aggressively, passing vehicles using the shoulder on I-70 and traveling at 109 mph. The suspect’s vehicle also allegedly hit a parked vehicle at the commuter parking lot at Marshall Junction. When confronted in Concordia, the driver ran into a wooded area and was not located at that time. However, a trace of a phone left in the vehicle led authorities to arrest Jeremy Cummings.
According to court documents, Cummings is charged with a felony for resisting arrest by fleeing and seven driving-related misdemeanors.
The case was bound over to the trial division. Cummings pleaded not guilty on July 26, 2021. On September 13, the state’s motion for change of judge was granted.
A hearing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, at Saline County Circuit Court.
