An ordinance for the annual agreement to pay the Saline County Emergency Management Agency for services was considered during the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, March 21.

The ordinance says, “the City of Marshall and Saline County to desire to continue to cooperate in providing emergency preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation services to the citizens of the county and city by entering into a new emergency management agreement.”

City Attorney Josh Taylor explained there will be a slight increase in the yearly fee over last year.

The council voted unanimously to approve the first reading of the ordinance.

A second reading will need to be approved during a future council meeting for the ordinance to go into effect.
