
Elsie Borchers, 85, of Blackburn, MO, died Thursday, March 17, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Blackburn with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow at Blackburn Cemetery. An Order of Eastern Star service will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2022, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with visitation following until 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to family choice and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com
Born April 28, 1936, in rural Blackburn, she was the daughter of the late John H. Brunkhorst and Mildred Horman Brunkhorst. Elsie married James Rader, who preceded her in death, and on November 10, 1962, she married Don D. Borchers, who preceded her in death on April 4, 2007. Elsie lived in the Blackburn area most of her life where she was a homemaker for her family and served as a 4-H Leader for Lucky Leaf in Blackburn. After her family was raised she worked at, and retired from, Rival Manufacturing in Sweet Springs. Elsie was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Order of the Eastern Star and a square dancing club. She crocheted, was known for her loom weaving rag rugs, and will be remembered for her pies.
Survivors include three daughters: Pamela Bock of Blackburn, Connie Borchers of Blackburn, and Sandra Harden of Lexington; five grandchildren: Valerie Hall, Amanda Bock, Danielle Bergsieker, Emilee Bock, and Kaylee Harden; eight great-grandchildren: Logan, Alexis and Jaxson Hall, Brody and Braxtyn Samson, Dillon and Darren Bergsieker, and Audrey Brookman; one sister, Vivian Harms of Concordia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to her parents and husbands; Elsie was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Brunkhorst; and one sister, Dorothy Dieckhoff.
