An inmate at an area county jail facing a felony charge due to alleged phone calls he made from the prison is due in court.

A probable-cause statement says a deputy was monitoring recorded Cooper County Detention Center phone calls from Alexander Linthicum. From February 6 to February 14, Linthicum is alleged to have made numerous phone calls to three different people that consisted of threats of violence, admission and tampering with a witness.

According to court documents Linthicum is charged with a felony for tampering or attempt to tamper with a victim and a felony prosecution. Bond remains at $25,000 cash or surety.

Linthicum was arraigned and pleaded not guilty on March 8. His next hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
