Over the course of three months, members of the Sedalia Police Department’s Crime Resolution Unit have been investigating an individual suspect to be trafficking methamphetamine in Pettis County.
According to a press release, on Tuesday, March 22, authorities obtained and executed four search warrants. During the investigation, detectives initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by the suspect. A search revealed methamphetamine and a female passenger. Both the suspect and passenger were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on 24-hour holds.
At approximately the same time as the traffic stop, authorities say investigators with the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force and Pettis County deputies served a search warrant at the Budget Inn motel room alleged to be utilized by the suspect located at 4710 South Limit Avenue. A search of the room revealed a stolen handgun and US currency believed to be the profit of illegal drug sales.
The two additional search warrants were later served at the suspect’s primary residence, 2343 West Main Street and a vehicle registered to him that was parked at his apartment complex.
Inside the vehicle investigators located over one pound of methamphetamine and additional evidence to indicate the distribution of the substance.
Charges of first degree drug trafficking, two counts of distribution/delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and receiving stolen property are pending for the subject.
The female passenger also has a pending charge of possession of a controlled substance. She was also arrested for an active probation violation with no bond.
Per KMMO policy, the names of the subjects will not be released until formal charges are filed.
