Hundreds of area residents and students attended KMMO’s AG Day Event on Tuesday, March 22, at Nick and Elizabeth Thompson’s Grows In Rows Farm, located on Highway 41, just south of Miami, in Saline County.

The speaker lineup also included Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe as the keynote speaker, Missouri Department of Agriculture Director Chris Chinn and Cindy Young, Farm Director for the Brownfield Farm Network

Chinn says it’s an exciting time for Missouri agriculture.

Chinn says Governor Mike Parson highlighted high-speed internet and meat processing in this year’s budget.

Chinn cautions that the state needs to increase biosecurity on farms.

All who attended the gala were treated to lunch that was served by the Saline County Cattlemen and Santa Fe Agri Leaders.
