After serving as the Mayor of Marshall for approximately three years, Mayor Julie Schwetz announced she will be resigning from the position.
According to a letter addressed to the citizens of Marshall, Schwetz says this decision came after reflecting on family commitments. In her letter she wrote, “Circumstances have resulted in my home being put on the market and there is now a contracted offer. The City has many good and time-sensitive matters currently underway, and I do not want to delay the progress being made nor cause confusion about my future.”
Schwetz says she will continue cheering for the best of Marshall.
Mayor Pro Tem Dan Brandt issued the announcement on Thursday, March 24. The official letter can be viewed by clicking the following attachment: ( Mayor-Julie-Schwetz-Letter-3.24.22).
