The Marshall School Board voted to extend the district’s contract with Opaa! for food service during its meeting this week.

According to unofficial minutes, Director of Special Services Grace Durham reported on the amendments between the district and Opaa! Food Management. The term of this contract shall be for one year beginning on July 1, 2022, and continuing until June 30, 2023.

Durham also proposed a 10-cent increase in school meals for the 2022-23 school year. The proposed meal prices for next school year are:  high school – $2.35; middle school – $2.30; elementary schools – $2.25; and adult – $3.30. Several meals will remain the same: reduced lunch – 40 cents; breakfast – $1.15; reduced breakfast – 30 cents; and extra milk – 40 cents.

The board approved the meal prices.

In other news, Laura Jacobi, Director of Teaching and Learning, requested summer school be held June 2-29: grades K-4 at Spainhower Primary; BMS for grades 5-8; and grades 9-12 at SCCC.

The board approved the dates and locations for summer school.
