During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, March 31, Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner announced the ARPA Funds Committee met recently and approved some funds to be utilized by the county.

Fenner said another application involves improvements to the circle drive at the courthouse.

Earlier this month, the commission approved an amended bid from Lyon Concrete, LLC, of Marshall, for $81,000 to replace the circle drive.

Fenner said the county has about $135,000 remaining from its original $2.2 million allotment from the federal government. He said the county could receive the other half of the ARPA funding- another $2.2 million- sometime in April, but that timetable isn’t set in stone.
