The month of March was a soggy one, as nearly five inches of precipitation fell at the KMMO Studio in Marshall.

According to statistics from the National Weather Service, only 1.02 inches of precipitation fell in Marshall during February, but that same amount was recorded in one day in March. March’s total nearly quintupled that of February at 4.91 inches. The most precipitation- 1.02 inches- fell on February 19. Also, 95-hundredths of an inch fell on March 30. Measurable precipitation was recorded on 10 of the 31 days in March.

As for temperatures, the average high jumped from 41.9 degrees in February to 55.9 degrees in March. The high of 80 degrees was registered on March 3.

The average low temperature was 15.9 degrees in February but improved to just above freezing at 32.9 degrees in March. The low of 6 degrees was registered on both March 12 and 13.
