
Wilbert Paul Fischer, age 93, of rural Sweet Springs, MO, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Christ Lutheran Church in rural Sweet Springs, with Rev. Erich Kurz officiating. Burial will follow at Sweet Springs Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs.

Wilbert was the youngest son of George W. Fischer and Bess Hemme Fischer born on May 29, 1928, in rural Sweet Springs. He was baptized on June 24, 1928 and confirmed on May 24, 1942, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs. Wilbert was a lifelong resident of rural Sweet Springs, a 1946 graduate of Sweet Springs High School, and a lifelong farmer. On July 24, 1949, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs, he married Sarah Jane Menegali and she preceded him in death on May 17, 2017. Wilbert was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church in rural Sweet Springs.
Wilbert is survived by four daughters: Paula Brashers (Gary) of Fredericktown, Connie Sims (Dewey) of Sweet Springs, Marie Wienberg (Norman) of Concordia, and Lois Schroeder (Kent) of Sweet Springs; six grandchildren: Lisa Brock, Joshua Sims, Ross Wienberg, Jill Langewisch, Jeffrey Sims, and Deena Moenkhoff; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Fischer.
In addition to his parents and wife, Wilbert was preceded in death by a brother, Orland J. Fischer; and an infant brother, George Wallace Fischer.
