Two new COVID-19 related deaths were reported in an area county.

According to Lafayette County Health Department officials, the death raises the county’s total to 114 since the beginning of the pandemic.

An update on Monday, April 11, says the county currently has seven active cases, including six persons hospitalized due to the virus. The positivity rate as of April 7 was 1.86 percent, per the CDC’s COVID data tracker.

There have been 18 new PCR cases and one positive Rapid Antigen results since the last report on April 4. In all, there has been a total 5,238 positive cases in the county.

Per the CDC, 52.2 percent of people in Lafayette County have initiated their first dose of their vaccine series. 45.5 percent of people in Lafayette County have completed primary series.
