A Boonville man who was charged with felonies after authorities responded to the report of a disturbance involving a handgun at a motel in February is due in court.
A Boonville Police report says officers were dispatched to the Super 8 Motel on Americana Drive and found a female who allegedly had been assaulted and were advised that her assailant had a weapon in his possession during the assault.
Officers searched the immediate area- which included motel rooms that were listed as vacant- and they located the alleged suspect inside one of the vacant rooms. While placing the man under arrest, a handgun was located in his possession.
During a search of the room where the man actually was staying, a large amount of drugs including prescription medications also allegedly were found.
Court documents say Charles Walker is charged with felonies for delivery of a controlled substance, third-degree domestic assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. Bond is fixed at $100,000 cash or surety.
Walker pleaded not guilty on February 15. His counsel-status hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
