Some bids were approved by the Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen during its meeting on Monday, April 11.

According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, one bid was received for park attendant. Aldermen approved the bid of $475 per month from Sheri Bullock.

Aldermen also approved a bid of $3,000 for 60 bags of Merit from Bernard Lumber Company for grub control at the cemetery. This will be enough for two treatments, and the unused portion after the first application will be stored by the business. Mayor Franny Vaught also pointed out it would be a good idea to let the public know when the grub treatment would be used. He said several people walk their dogs in the cemetery, and it would be good for them to know. It was suggested to put up a digital sign and signs at entry points.

The city received no bids for dragging and marking of the ball fields for the summer. However, the board approved last year’s pay for this year’s contract. Aldermen approved a motion for a contract up to $500 to be paid for the job.
