Transient Guest Tax disbursement was discussed by the Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen during its meeting on Monday, April 11.

According to unofficial minutes, the Transient Guest Tax Committee recommended $2,000 for the Tractor Pull; $50 to the Sweet Springs Chamber of Commerce’s projects of a Lighted Christmas Parade; $9,000 to the Sweet Springs MotorSports Complex; $1,000 to the Sweet Springs Optimist Club; $3,000 to the Rookery Theater Sweet Springs Shearing Shenanigans; $5,000 for the Sweet Springs Restoration Foundation’s Block Party; $3,000 for the Sweet Springs Restoration Foundation’s Costumes and Cocktails; $1,200 to Sweet Springs Festival Gusher Days; and $2,750 to MU Omega’s “There’s No Place Like Home”.

Aldermen approved the disbursement with some changes: $4,000 for the Sweet Springs Restoration Foundation’s Block Party; $1,500 for the Sweet Springs Restoration Foundation’s Costumes and Cocktails; and $12,000 to MU Omega’s “There’s No Place Like Home”.

In other news, the board approved Beau Dillon to be hired as a part-time temporary employee.
