The Salisbury R-4 School Board approved some bids during its meeting on Wednesday, April 13.

According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, the board voted to accept a bid of $107,896 from Midwest Bus Sales for the purchase of a 71-passenger bus with air conditioning.

The board also gave the green light to bids from Blazer Athletic for several pieces of athletic equipment and such, including $161.50 for aluminum hurdles; a college starting block for $368.05; a complete pole vault pit for $29,310.55; and a complete high jump pit at $11,070.40.

In other news, the board voted to accept the retirement of Superintendent Tony Whitson at the end of next year’s contract- June 30, 2023.

In addition, the board reorganized after the Municipal Election. The results were accepted, and Whitson thanked Chris Brown for six years and Regina Boss for nine years of service as board members. Whitson then administered the Oath of Office to Diane Cooper and Christopher Wilhoit.

Andrea Binder was elected president of the board; Russ Stundebeck as vice president; Terry Hulett as treasurer; and Kim Vetter as secretary. Cooper was selected as MSBA delegate and Wilhoit as MSBA alternate.
