Saline County Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden talked about ARPA funds during the commission meeting on Thursday, April 14.

Gooden made a motion to approve the standard allowance of up to $10 million of loss in revenue. Gooden further explained.

Gooden said this will allow ARPA funds to be spent on government services.

Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner said there is $210,852 still left from the first half of the county’s disbursement- $2.2 million of $4.4 million.

So, when is the county scheduled to receive the latter half of the funds? Gooden said that’s anybody’s guess.

In other news, commissioners approved the hiring of Zachariah Foltz as a full-time deputy sheriff for the road division. His employment will be effective on Monday, May 2.
