Two persons have been charged with multiple felonies after a 47-year-old Warrensburg man was found dead of gunshot wounds this past weekend.

According to a press release from Johnson County Sheriff Scott Munsterman, on April 17, deputies responded to a rural Warrensburg address in the 100 block of SW 250 Road in reference to multiple gunshots being heard. When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered Clifford Heffele deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. A second Victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries from a single gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital.

During the investigation, 28-year-old Brandon L. Nodine, of Warrensburg, was placed under arrest and formally charged with felonies for second-degree murder, armed criminal action, first-degree burglary, unlawful use of a weapon and tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree. He is being held on a no-bond warrant.

A 17-year-old also was taken into custody for first-degree murder, armed criminal action, first-degree burglary, assault in the first degree and unlawful use of a weapon. The teenager remains in Juvenile Custody.
