
During the meeting of the Marshall School Board on Wednesday, April 20, health insurance for employees was discussed.
According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, Tonya Johnson stated CTA was requesting fully funded insurance. Three plans- including HSA, traditional and buy-up- will be available.
After much discussion, on a motion by Harry Carrell, and seconded by Ellen Lance, the board unanimously tabled making a decision on insurance coverage until more information was available.
During a special emergency meeting of the school board on Friday, April 22, a release from Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher says, “The MPS BOE voted unanimously to accept the bid from United Health Care for insurance coverage and fully fund that coverage 100 percent for eligible employees.”
According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, there’s no DDP verbiage in the proposal.
