The City of Sedalia Public Works Department will be closing some streets in the downtown area from noon until 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 24.

According to city officials, the street closures are planned so that vehicle traffic will not inhibit children and other pedestrians moving freely between activities at the Ukrainian Festival planned in the area surrounding the new Downtown Pavilion.

The street closures planned are:

— South Ohio Ave. from 2nd St. to 3rd St.;

—S. Osage Ave. from the mid-block alley north of W. 2nd St. to the mid-block alley

north of W. 3rd St.; and

— W. 2nd St. from S. Kentucky Ave. to the mid-block alley west of S. Lamine Ave.

City officials add, “We apologize for any inconvenience these road closures may cause, but encourage everyone to come out and participate in the festival.”
