A Warrensburg man charged with multiple felonies after he allegedly killed another man more than two years ago is due in court.

A felony complaint alleges Wayne Lewis Hill Jr. knowingly caused the death of Joseph Campbell by shooting him- while a 3-year-old child and an infant were in the room- on or about March 7, 2020. More than four dozen witnesses have been identified in the complaint.

Court documents say Hill is charged with felonies for second-degree murder, armed criminal action, voluntary manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.

Hill waived his preliminary hearing, and the case was bound over to the trial division on February 14. A pre-trial conference is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 25, and his four-day jury trial is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Johnson County Circuit Court.
