
On March 17, the Marshall Police Department received information from Saline County E-911 concerning a report of multiple gunshots in the 600 block of South Odell Avenue.
A news release from the P.D. says officers responded to investigate, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Saline County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist.
Upon Marshall Police officers’ arrival, they heard a disturbance inside the residence. Officers approached the residence, observed a man and woman in an altercation, and the man had a rifle in his possession. Officers were able to subdue the man who resisted arrest.
Officers transported Luis Garcia and Sheyna Ramos to the Saline County Justice Facility. Formal charges were filed against the two Marshall residents.
According to court documents, Garcia is charged with felonies for unlawful use of a weapon- exhibiting and resisting arrest for a felony, as well as assault in the third degree. His bond is set at $10,000 cash only on the first two charges and $10,000 cash only on the assault charge. Ramos is charged with a felony for resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony, She posted surety bond on March 22.
Garcia was arraigned on March 23, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4.
Ramos waived her preliminary hearing, and the case was bound over to the trial division on April 20. She is scheduled to be arraigned at 10 a.m. Monday, April 25.
