A Boonville man who is charged with felonies after authorities responded to the report of a disturbance involving a handgun at a motel in February has a court proceeding scheduled.
According to a Boonville Police report, officers responded to the Super 8 Motel on Americana Drive and found a female who says she had been assaulted. She also said her assailant had a weapon in his possession during the assault.
Officers searched the immediate area- including motel rooms that were listed as vacant- and located the person of interest inside one of the vacant rooms. While placing the man under arrest, they say they located a handgun in his possession.
During a search of the room where the man actually was staying, authorities add they located a large amount of drugs, including prescription medications.
Court documents say Charles Walker is charged with felonies for delivery of a controlled substance, third-degree domestic assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. Bond remains $100,000 cash or surety.
Walker pleaded not guilty on February 15. His counsel-status hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
