During the Saline County Commission meeting on Thursday, April 28, commissioners considered a request for the use of courthouse grounds for an annual event.

Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. gave the details.

Guthrey also asked for approval of a new hire for the sheriff’s department.

Commissioners approved both requests.

In other news, commissioners noted Dale Zank has resigned from the Transportation Advisory Council (TAC). Commissioners did not approve a replacement.

Commissioners also noted the circle drive renovation is nearly complete. They say it will be completed in time for the Municipal Band concerts, Saline County Barbecue and other events coming up.
