The Sweet Springs Police Department has issued an important message to its residents.
Police officials say from this date forward, if a police officer is needed, you will need to call the Saline County E-911 Center at 9-1-1 if it is an emergency or (660) 831-1911 for the non- emergency line. This way a record of your call will be logged at the E-911 Center, and it will be able to get you the proper agency that is needed, along with the caller’s information, whether it be police – fire – or EMS.
Police officials say this will cut out the middle man, and the dispatcher can get all of the important information for the call.
Chief Tammy Johnson and the officers will no longer be taking calls on their work cell phone for those of you who have those numbers. The work phones are for the officers to make call s to each other and other departments when needed.
