The 34th annual Air Force 2nd Lieutenant George A. Whiteman Memorial Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony is scheduled to take place Saturday, May 21, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia.

According to a press release, at 11 a.m., members of the Military Affairs Committee and Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce will conduct the service and Wreath Laying Ceremony at the gravesite of Whiteman at the cemetery, located at the intersection of 32nd and Green Ridge Road.

Invitations have been sent to family members, Military personnel and local dignitaries, along with city, county, state and federal elected officials.

Weather permitting, a flyover of four T-38s from Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster is scheduled to perform a missing man formation at the event at 11:27 a.m.
