An area woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant on Monday, May 9.

According to the Waverly Police Department, at about 6:30 p.m., Christina Piland rode on a motorized scooter past the Police Chief’s residence while he was outside. A quick search of Casenet showed that Piland has an active warrant for her arrest- a felony for failure to appear warrant on an original charge of dangerous drugs out of Lafayette County, with no bond allowed.

The Police Chief drove through the area and located Piland, conducted a traffic stop and made an arrest. The Police Chief says Piland was transported to the Lafayette County Jail, where she will remain until her next court date.

The Police Chief says this also is the third time Piland has been arrested by the Waverly Police Department in the last year.
