The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works approved two action items during its most recent meeting on May 12.

The board looked at two bids for removal of residual particles from all three sections of lagoon number two. Water Treatment Director Travis Boss recommended the bid from Environmental Works Inc.

The board approved the $15,215 bid from Environmental Works. The project is pending approval of safety qualifications, but is estimated to start on June 20.

In other news, MMU approved a motion to request bids for approximately 5,000 feet of sewer main using Cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP). This is a part of a larger project to improve the wastewater collection system.
