Carol Earline Treon, age 79, of DeWitt, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Brunswick Nursing & Rehab in Brunswick, Missouri.
She was the daughter of Fredrick Henry and Georgia Alice (Groves) Taylor, born in Brunswick, Missouri, on November 6, 1942, the youngest and last survivor of ten children. On December 9, 1958, a little over 63 years ago, she married her sweetheart, Raymond J. Treon in Knob Noster, Missouri, and they were later blessed with three children, Debra Sue, Raymond William (Bill), and Carolyn Naomi.
Earline was a wonderful wife, loving mother, and grandmother, who adored her family, and always looked forward to spending as much time as possible with them. She especially liked holidays when the family could all be together so she could make their favorite foods like German Chocolate Cake, chili, and lasagna, just to mention a few, because honestly, everything she made was wonderful. Earline enjoyed being outdoors working in her beautiful flower gardens, doing word search puzzles, playing rummy and pitch, and eating coconut cream pie! During her working years, she was employed at Casey’s in Brunswick, and at the nursing home in Brunswick and Carrollton in the kitchen, as well as being a co-owner with Raymond, owning and operating the Phillips 66 Stations in Brunswick, and Carrollton. When she was younger, she bowled on a league in Carrollton, and made many lasting friendships with her teammates. Anyone who knew Earline, knew that she was an immaculate housekeeper. As a matter of fact, she always had a dust cloth in her hand, and Raymond would tease her, that at some point she was going to take the finish off of the furniture! Earline had a soft spot for animals, but when it came to her beloved cat Precious, she not only spoiled her, the cat had to have ice cubes in its water! She was baptized at the age of fifteen at the Brunswick Baptist Church and later attended DeWitt Baptist Church.
Earline is survived by her loving husband, Raymond of the home; her children, Debra Perkins of Marshall, Missouri, Bill Treon of Brunswick, Missouri, and Carol Benedick and husband Albert of Marshall, Missouri; six grandchildren, Amber King (Jason), Ashley Treon, Adam Treon, Daniel Benedick, Amanda Westhues (Matt), and Brandon Perkins (Shelby); eleven great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Georgia Taylor; seven sisters, Elizabeth, Juanita, Bonnie, Elsa, Edith, Virginia, and Christine; and two brothers, Wesley, and Manning.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., on Wednesday, May 18, at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 North 65 Highway, Carrollton, Missouri. Funeral Services will follow at 12 p.m., with Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, DeWitt, Missouri.
