
Michael S. Williams, age 49, of Lawrence, Kansas, and formerly of Marshall, died Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Olathe Hospice House in Olathe, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, at St. Paul Baptist Church in Slater, with Rev. Wellington J. Gorham, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans’ Cemetery in Higginsville. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children, in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born December 13, 1972, in Marshall, he was the son of James and Sandra Conway Williams, who survive of Marshall. On July 9, 2005 in Marshall, he married Bobbi Kistler, and she survives of the home.
Also surviving are three sons, James Williams of Marshall, Wyatt Thorpe of Gladstone, and Jordan Robinson of Greensboro, North Carolina; a daughter, Grace Williams of Lawrence; a grandson, Cartier Thorpe; and a brother, J.L. Williams of Marshall.
Mr. Williams was a U.S. Army veteran, serving twenty-two years of active duty, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He later worked for Schilli Trucking, and currently was employed by Keim Transport in Lawrence, Kansas. He was a 1991 graduate of Marshall High School.
