
The Cole Camp Bluebirds boys’ golf team won the Class 1 State Championship.
According to MSHSAA, Cole Camp shot a team low score of 678, three shots better than Marceline at the par-72 Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield.
Westran was third with a 699 and Salisbury fifth with a 722.
Individually, Westran’s Logan Bain won the 36-hole event with a 156- three shots better than Columbia Independent’s Joseph Devoy. Marceline’s William Heller tied for fourth with a 162. Salisbury’s Elliott Hayward and Sacred Heart’s Luke Jenkins tied for sixth with a 164. Marceline’s Jacob Rallo was eighth with a 165, and Collin Brandow, of Westran, was ninth with a 166.
Cole Camp’s Spencer Goodwin was 10th with a 167. Others who figured into the Bluebirds’ scoring were: Tyler Howard 13th with a 169; Matthew Bright tied for 14th with a 170; and Gage Oelrichs tied for 18th with a 172.
There were 85 golfers in the Class 1 event- with 83 completing the course.
Smith-Cotton finished fifth in the team standings in Class 4 with a 660 at the par-72 Meadow Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield. Webster Groves won the team title with a 639.
Individually, Smith-Cotton’s Jaxan Boeschen tied for 32nd with a 164. Aiden Ashby, of Bolivar, won the 36-hole event with a 144.
