
Phyllis Ann Perkins Kimzey, 86, of rural Odessa, formerly of Saline County, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Centerpoint Hospital in Independence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel, 226 S. Odell Ave., Marshall, MO 65340 with burial following in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Jason Kindle will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born October 21, 1935, in rural Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late Charles Amos Perkins and Eliza Louise Crowder Perkins. Phyllis was raised in the rural Sweet Springs area and was a 1953 graduate of Sweet Springs High School. She was previously married to Norman Kimzey and he survives of Hale, MO. Phyllis was a hard worker all of her life and was employed at several factory jobs through the years and retired from General Motors. One of her favorite jobs was being a dental assistant in the 1970’s. In addition to working, Phyllis loved to plant a huge garden, grow flowers, and enjoyed the organization Helping Hands of Odessa.
She is survived by four children: Rick Willig of rural Odessa, Daniel Willig (Beverly) of Odessa, Doug Willig (Tonya) of Jefferson City, and Brenda Kay Dumas (Tommy) of rural Odessa; two step-children, David Kimzey (Christine) of Blue Springs, and Becky Brozovich of Blue Springs; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Monroe Perkins (Beth) of rural Sweet Springs; as well as other extended family.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Louise Perkins; one son, Jack Willig; her step-mother, Aileen Perkins; a step-sister, Virginia Uselton; and a step-daughter, Julie Foose.
