During a court proceeding on May 23, a Boonville resident charged with a felony for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident that caused injuries to another person opted to cancel his jury trial.

On May 12, 2021, a Boonville Police report alleges Treyvon Korte was the driver of a vehicle that struck a juvenile male and threw him to the ground. Police say Korte then accelerated and fled the scene without stopping to check on the boy.

Court documents say Korte is charged with a felony for leaving the scene of an accident causing physical injury.

On February 14, the judge scheduled Korte’s jury trial to begin on June 1. However, Korte opted for a bench trial, which is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
